FUTURE DUBSTEP KLASSICS

I haven’t blogged about a DUBSTEP compilation before, but I feel compelled to do so. In early 2011, BASS PUNCH RECORDS released a comp called FUTURE KLASSICS 2. Posting a single jam from this album just wouldn’t do it justice. It’s the way that it works as a whole that makes it such a good listen. This means, you’re gonna need to check out the whole thing to get a proper feel. better get started…

It’s the versatility of the music that makes this comp such an enjoyable experience. Bass Punch have picked out tunes from across the spectrum of Dubstep, from sparse, dubby excursions, like CLEVER MONKEY’s LATE VICTORY, to busy jump up jams, like SHUFF OFF by AFTERDARK, and all sounds in between. Beautiful tapestries, like NOT ENOUGH by RDUBZ, are paired with dark , brooding tracks, like the PARANOISE REMIX of 666 by SUBSTEP INFRABASS. There are sexy vocals, like on MARCHMELLOW’s HAT 2 LUV U, and violent head bangers, like the comps opener, BASTARD by DUX. You will even hear some OLDSCHOOL ravey goodness, in the form of RAKOON’s JUNGLE DUB.

Future Klassics 2 also includes a FREE TRACK, and it’s a fun one. RISKYMAN has taken the 80′s classic, DURAN DURAN’s RIO, and dubbed it up with half time beats, and lots of wompy bass. This one has a positive vibe that’s sure to put a smile on your face. Grab it below.

Naturally, I urge you to pick up this compilation. The Soundcloud set has a button to buy on Beatport, but if you’d rather NOT support out of touch, self absorbed, old cunts, I suggest you purchase it HERE.

You can keep up with BASS PUNCH RECORDS via FACEBOOK and TWITTER, get at more of their releases on SOUNDCLOUD and JUNO, and see a great big picture of a t-shirt on their WEBSITE.

That T-shirt picture is so sweet!
