Now, let’s get to the meat of it…
Low end bass and catchy melodies couple, resulting in their signature sound of heavy, musical dubstep. Their ability to join individual roots in Hip Hop and Electro to create a diverse sound has solidified the foursome’s place in the court of Dubstep royalty.
Here’s a great example of what you’re gonna hear from the HS camp. Strong melodies blend and build to an epic peak, where the tables are suddenly turned, as your ears get assaulted by an array of ultra low bass and siren like blasts. This one is appropriately titled BEAT DOWN.
San Francisco Bay Area based duo, Megalodon, consists of dubstep and breakbeat dj/producers SINJIN & PHIL T. Having founded Double Drop Recordings in early 2008, these two fresh faces carry plenty of bassweight in their case. Often hard at work in the studio, they can otherwise be seen frequently tearing up Bay Area dancefloors. These two are surely ones to watch in future.
Here’s a great choon from this duo, called WESTERN RIDDIM. It’s got a STREET BASS feel and it’ll have you saying “YEAH!” after the first drop.
He’s my homeboy from back in the TOTALLY SWEET RADIO DAYS, but we haven’t had a chance to party together in a minute. You can bet I’m pumped that we’re finally on the same bill again.
