1 YEAR OF DEAD KIDS GETTING LIVELY

It’s been 1 year since DEAD KIDS GET LIVELY went online, and to celebrate, I’ve just made some mad changes around here that are gonna make this little blog even bigger and better. Before I get into what’s new, let’s run down what happened in year one…

In it’s first year of existence, there were 17,834 visits to DKGL. Not bad.

Before this post, there are exactly 260 individual songs hosted right on this blog.

Now on to WHAT’S NEW for year #2

NEW APPEARANCE

DKGL has gone through a metamorphasis, with a new colour scheme, new logo (Zombie voodoo doll! Whaaaa?!?!), and a new, more user friendly layout. It’s now easier to FOLLOW this blog, SUBMIT TRACKS, check out your FAVORITE CATEGORIES, browse the ARCHIVES, and ensure that you’ve viewed the TOP POSTS.

COMMENTS

They’re now easier to find and submit to on individual posts, and the right sidebar contains a RECENT COMMENTS section, so everybody else can easily view what you’ve written. I love to read your thoughts and am hoping to see a lot more comments in the year to come.

If you’ve left a comment in the past, you should check up on it, cuz I went through and responded to all of them. Would love to hear back from you.

DEAD FRIDAYS

I’m always trying to write about new artists. Consequently, once I’ve written about a particular producer, I’ve been hesitant to post more of their music. In year 2, I want to do more to support the artists that have been previously featured on the site, so from now on, EVERY FRIDAY will feature new material from DEAD KID ARTISTS. There have been HUNDREDS of producers featured on the blog over the past year, and I will be contacting them all to inform them that they are now OFFICIAL DEAD KIDS, and encouraging them to send me new content (which many of them do already) for DEAD FRIDAY posts.

ABOUT GOBBY Z UPDATED

I’ve updated my BIO page, with more about my MUSICAL TASTES. I’ve also updated my DISCOG and CONTACT INFO. Please give it a QUICK READ.

****LOOKING FOR MORE BLOGGERS****

I no longer follow HARD DANCE music, but I still consider it to be an important part of DKGL that brings a lot of you to this blog, so I’m officially looking for a DJ/PRODUCER/MUSIC COLLECTOR that closely follows all of the various sub-genres of Hard Dance Music, and is interested in writing intellegent, passionate articles that feature the finest producers that Hard Dance has to offer. All that I’m looking for is a commitment of 8 posts over the course of the next year, but it could easily be more. Please visit my ABOUT GOBBY Z page for contact info, and get at me if you’re interested.

I’d also LOVE to add some MORE AUTHORS to this blog, in WHATEVER GENRES of music you happen to be passionate about. If you’ve been frequenting the site, and you think you’d like to contribute articles in a similar style to the ones you’ve seen here, please CONTACT ME, and let’s discuss it.

Let me know WHAT YOU THINK about the NEW LAYOUT. I can easily put things back the way they were, but I think the changes are a big improvement that will make DKGL more enjoyable for everyone. Agree? Disagree? Lemme know!

!!!NOW FOR SOME MUSIC!!!

Let’s kick off YEAR 2 the same way I started things up a year ago…

…with a KILLER Z JAM!

CRIMES!

He’s an ALIEN ZOMBIE who has made Orange County, CA, his home. CRIMES! began producing at age 15, and has dabbled in just about every genre of electronic music. Now in his mid-twenties, Crimes! has been blowing up the So Cal DUBSTEP scene, with his extremely filthy “Murda’ Sound” style. One of his productions is a dirty masterpiece of a Z JAM, titled DAY OF THE DEAD. Check it out below.
