As SLOWED music continues to morph, and change, many artists are experimenting with sounds that can’t accurately be described as “MOOMBAHTON”, but that also don’t fit better into any other pre-established category. Music sure is a tricky beast, these days. It’s exciting, though, isn’t it? Perhaps these new sounds will turn into scene’s and acquire names, in the near future. Until then, let’s just call them “Not Quite Moombah” and carry on with our lives.
KREWELLA – KILLIN’ IT (KILLAGRAHAM REMIX)
LA has become the world’s capital for both HEAVY BASS and MOOMBAHTON, alike. In that regard, it’s a natural spot for KILLAGRAHAM to call home. He’s discovered the perfect formula for Moombah vibes, injected with raging DUBSTEP wubs and wobbles. He’s applied that perfect formula to one of KREWELLA’s hits, and the result is, well…. Killin’ it!

MIZER & GOETZ – SLAYER
This amazing tune, by Colorado’s no bullshit Bass makers, MIZER & GOETZ, hovers between MOOMBAHCORE and ELECTRO, with plenty of monster slaying Dubstep influence. I’m sticking this into the Moombah category simply because it’s convenient for me. If I was seriously asked to pick a genre for it, my answer would be “who cares?! This tune kicks ass! Let’s not detract from its ass-kickingness with your cheesy labels!!”.

LL COOL J – MAMA SAID KNOCK YOU OUT (WICK-IT 2013 REVAMP)
WICK-IT has done it again, with another dancefloor destroying DJ weapon! This time, he’s taken one of the most important jams in HIP-HOP history and transformed it into a blast of GLITCH HOP goodness, which transitions, quite cleverly, into ratchet-ass TRAP. Listen to the bass go boom!
It’s been a pleasure getting slowwwwed with ya.
