KEYS N KRATES WILL SURVIVE WHEN EDM DIES

The mass realization that festival DJs are really not doing much at all has led to the revival of live performance. As the rebirth of live music continues to gain momentum, with it comes an impending doom for most touring DJs and EDM producers. As far as the TRAP genre is concerned, there may be only one group that thrives in the aftermath. They are, after all, several years ahead of the game.

KEYS N KRATES

A drummer, synth player, and turntablist, all from Toronto, who formed a band, in 2008, with the intention of delivering a completely live EDM experience. With a background in HOUSE and HIP HOP, their style has led to them being reluctantly labelled as “the world’s only Trap band”. Being all talented and well rounded musicians, they have a versatile sound, making the pigeon-holing “Trap” part of that statement bothersome, so do try focusing on the “worlds only … band” parts of it. Urban underground music Producers everywhere will soon be struggling to convert their DJ sets into some sort of orchestral exhibit. Meanwhile, KNK have already been doing it so well that their reputation has brought them to the stages of North America’s largest festivals. They are more than the “hot act of the moment”. They are the future.

TREAT ME RIGHT, the first single of their SOLOW EP, became a #1 hit, and has since reached anthem status, not just within the Trap scene, but amongst all EDM. You can download it, stream it, or watch the MUSIC VID below, but I hope you won’t stop there. You need to hear more KEYS N KRATES, and you NEED to see them live.
