DEAD AIR ELECTRO 47 (THIS IS JUNK) ((NOVEMBER 2016))
It’s always weirded me out when people refer to mainstream electro house as dirty. To me, just having some distortion on the main synth line doesn’t make a tune dirty. Not if the frequencies are all neatly separated, and everything is stale & perfect. That’s just a commercial product trying to parade itself as dirty. I wanna hear clashing frequencies and indie warmth. I want spontaneity and immediacy. I want a clear lack of caring about perfection, because imperfection reminds us that this track was made by a human, and the song becomes relatable. There’s more to this Junk stuff then just the joy of sounding dreadful. These tunes speak to the human spirit. Specifically, the part of that spirit which loves to let go of all inhibitions and rage.
